Abra Group has not yet chosen which of its airlines will fly the Embraer E195-E2 aircraft it ordered, while pilot training for the type is already being prepared. The holding company, which owns Gol and Avianca, plans to assign the jets closer to delivery depending on market conditions and demand.
The group firmed up an order for five E195-E2s in May and secured purchase rights for 45 more, aiming to lock in relatively near-term delivery positions at Embraer. The aircraft are intended to give Abra greater mid-capacity fleet flexibility across its portfolio, with Gol and Avianca among the potential operators.
A possible integration of Sky Airline could further broaden the deployment options if that process advances. Abra’s management linked the fleet decision to network needs rather than any fixed airline allocation, leaving the final use of the jets open until closer to handover.
