Archer and AEG have agreed an exclusive multi-year partnership to develop a vertiport at L.A. LIVE in downtown Los Angeles, with Archer becoming the district’s exclusive air taxi partner. The planned site, next to Crypto.com Arena, would support Archer’s Midnight eVTOL aircraft and form part of the company’s wider Southern California network ahead of the LA28 Games.
The companies have completed an initial feasibility study covering land use, airspace, power availability and community impact, and have moved into the next phase focused on operational design and guest experience. Archer described the L.A. LIVE location as its first announced vertiport in downtown Los Angeles. The partnership also aligns with a public display of the Midnight aircraft in Team USA livery at L.A. LIVE on 24 and 25 August.
No financial terms, construction timetable or service launch date were disclosed. Archer has previously outlined a regional network that could also include SoFi Stadium, USC, Hollywood Burbank and Hawthorne Municipal Airport, although the project remains pre-construction and no permits or operational approvals were identified.
