Somon Air has started operating its Dushanbe–Munich service nonstop in both directions, using a Boeing 737 MAX 8 on the weekly Saturday flight. The change took effect on 15 August, ending the westbound technical stop in Trabzon and making the Tajik capital’s link to Munich faster and more direct.
The route remains a niche long-haul connection between Tajikistan and Germany, but the removal of the stop is expected to improve schedule competitiveness and passenger convenience. Somon Air’s current timetable lists Munich among its destinations, confirming the revised operation. Before the switch, the Munich-bound sector included a planned stop in Trabzon, while the return service also operated with the intermediate point. The aircraft upgrade to the 737 MAX 8 appears to have enabled the nonstop profile without altering the once-weekly cadence.
