Lufthansa and Munich Airport have expanded their stopover programme to passengers travelling from China, India, Japan, South Korea and Thailand, widening access to a Munich layover offer that can now be booked immediately. The joint product lets eligible travellers extend a transfer in Munich into a stay of between 24 hours and seven days, with booking available through Lufthansa’s website.
The programme began earlier this year on routes from Singapore and the United States and now covers five additional major Asia-Pacific markets. Twelve partner offers are included in the package, spanning hotels, rental cars, attractions and shopping. The expansion adds further commercial reach to Munich’s hub position by turning connecting traffic into short-stay tourism demand for Munich and Bavaria.
