Qatar Airways has brought Starlink connectivity to 150 widebody aircraft, including the world’s first Starlink-equipped Boeing 787-9, as it accelerates its long-haul cabin connectivity rollout from Doha. The airline has also completed installation on its Boeing 787-8 sub-fleet in seven months and remains on track to finish Starlink deployment across its Boeing 787 fleet by the end of 2026.
The milestone extends a programme that Qatar Airways says has already connected more than 23 million passengers since October 2024. More than 83% of its widebody rollout is now complete, and up to 323 Starlink-enabled flights operate daily across six continents. The service is offered free of charge gate to gate, with access through Privilege Club authentication or enrolment and speeds of up to 500 Mbps.
Qatar Airways positions the network as the world’s first and largest Starlink-equipped widebody fleet, with the 787-9 now joining the programme after earlier completion of the Airbus A350 and Boeing 787-8 deployments. The carrier’s long-haul network remains a key part of the strategy, with the broader 787 rollout still due to finish by the end of 2026.
