Loft Dynamics will install its new H145 Multi-Pilot VR Simulator at Kawasaki Heavy Industries’ training centre in Gifu, Japan, giving Kawasaki the first deployment of the system in Asia-Pacific. The platform, developed with Airbus Helicopters, is intended for initial type ratings, instrument training, multi-crew cooperation, recurrent training and checking across emergency medical services, law enforcement, disaster response and other mission-critical operations.
The simulator combines a six-degree-of-freedom full-motion platform, a virtual full-scale cockpit and a 360-degree panoramic field of view. Airbus supplied flight dynamics, systems data and helicopter software for the programme, which extends Loft Dynamics’ H145 VR training concept beyond Europe into a major regional training market.
Kawasaki has long supported the Airbus BK117/H145 family and provides H145 training to operators in Japan and across the wider region. The new installation follows the recent commercial launch of the multi-pilot VR simulator and adds a further customer for Loft Dynamics as it broadens the reach of its helicopter training portfolio.
