Turkish Airlines operated a Boeing 777-300ER charter from Perth to Turin on 11 August, setting a company record for its longest nonstop flight. The special service carried Juventus home after the club’s Australia trip and covered about 13,800 km in roughly 16 hours and 27 minutes without a stop.
The aircraft used on the mission was TC-LJE, while the flight operated under the TK3701 designation. Reports indicate the jet had positioned from Istanbul to Perth before the return charter, identified as TK3700, making the routing part of a one-off movement rather than a scheduled passenger service.
The flight surpassed Turkish Airlines’ previous longest nonstop operation and highlighted the carrier’s ability to deploy widebody aircraft on ultra-long charter missions. The route between Australia and northern Italy also underlined the flexibility of the airline’s Boeing 777-300ER fleet for sports and other special-operations flying.
