Flexjet Bases European Helicopter Fleet at Blackbushe Airport

Flexjet is moving its European helicopter operation to Blackbushe Airport in Hampshire, near London, where its Flexjet Vertical Lift division will base Sikorsky S-76 and Leonardo AW139 aircraft for transfers to and from London-area airports. The new setup also supports wider UK helicopter work, while keeping the operation close to Flexjet’s fixed-wing base at Farnborough Airport.

The shift from Fairoaks to Blackbushe gives the business aviation group more flexibility for rotary-wing activity than its previous UK arrangement. Development of the new base was in its final stages, with launch targeted for early November, and the service is positioned around interline transfers for Flexjet customers as well as other missions in the UK.

Flexjet already operates helicopter services in the northeastern United States, Florida and the UK, with its S-76 fleet owned, operated and maintained by the company. The Blackbushe base also leaves room for future rotary-wing expansion, including potential eVTOL activity.
