SWISS will replace two Airbus A220-300s with two larger Airbus A320neos on its Geneva–London Heathrow service for the summer 2027 timetable, increasing capacity from 145 to 180 seats per aircraft. The aircraft swap is due to take effect in the schedule running from 28 March to 30 October 2027.
The change shifts the larger narrowbodies from Zürich to Geneva, while the A220-300s currently based in Geneva move in the opposite direction. The service adjustment targets one of SWISS’s key premium European routes out of Geneva and raises seat supply without increasing the number of aircraft stationed at the base.
SWISS has yet to publish the full summer 2027 flight schedule, with the detailed timetable expected in the coming weeks. The move underlines how the Lufthansa Group carrier is fine-tuning aircraft gauge by market, using the A320neo’s higher seating capacity on a route where demand can support more seats.
