TAAG to launch Luanda–Dakar–Praia route in October

TAAG will launch a new Luanda–Dakar–Praia service on 31 October, restoring direct connectivity between Angola and Cape Verde with Dakar as an intermediate stop. The route, timed for the start of the IATA winter schedule, gives Angola’s national carrier a new West African link and adds Praia to its network.

The service follows formal designation by Angola’s civil aviation regulator under the bilateral air services framework covering Angola and Cabo Verde. TAAG has pointed to long-standing demand for air links between the two markets, supported by historical, social and economic ties.

The new routing also extends Luanda’s role as a regional hub by improving access between southern and western Africa. It comes after TAAG suspended its previous Luanda–Praia service years ago, making the planned operation both a restoration and an expansion through Dakar.
