Starlux Airlines will invest TWD 4.2 billion, or about US$132 million, in a multipurpose building at its Taoyuan Aerotropolis site near Taoyuan International Airport, with completion targeted for 2029. The facility will function as a training base for pilots, cabin crew and other frontline staff, extending the carrier’s operational footprint beyond flights into long-term crew development and support functions.
The project builds on Starlux’s land purchase at the Taoyuan site in 2022 and on earlier plans for a wider complex covering headquarters, flight training, logistics and maintenance-related uses. Local media coverage indicated that total spending at the location, including the land acquisition, now exceeds TWD 13.4 billion.
The investment comes as the Taiwan carrier continues to expand its fleet and network. A dedicated training facility should give it greater control over crew preparation as operations scale, while also consolidating support functions in one location within the Taoyuan Aerotropolis development zone.
