Hainan Airlines to sell 80% stake in aircraft part-out business

Hainan Airlines’ listed parent, Hainan Airlines Holding, plans to sell an 80% stake in its aircraft dismantling and second-hand aviation materials unit, Chongqing HNA Aircraft Resources Recycling Co, to Chongqing Fangda Aviation International Headquarters Co for 44.00224 million yuan. The target handles civil aircraft part-out and used aviation parts trading, and will stop being consolidated into the group’s financial statements once the deal is completed.

The planned divestment comes as the group seeks to refocus on core operations, streamline its asset structure and improve resource allocation. It also aims to lift operating efficiency and reduce management costs. The unit being sold sits in the aviation aftermarket and recycling segment, covering dismantling work and the trading of reusable aircraft materials.

The transaction has been disclosed but completion has not yet been confirmed. Hainan Airlines Holding will retain a 20% interest in the business after the stake sale.
