Avianca Cargo has delivered another 60 tons of humanitarian aid from Miami to Cali for communities affected by the recent earthquake in Colombia. The shipment travelled on an Avianca A330F freighter and included electric generators, hygiene supplies and non-perishable food for distribution to affected areas. Of the cargo, 9 tons were coordinated by the Colombian government and 51 tons were donated by Global Empowerment Mission.
The flight formed part of a wider relief operation that has already moved more than 150 tons of aid in the first days after the disaster. Avianca has also increased passenger capacity and logistics support for rescuers and medical teams, while mobilising additional transport for the most affected regions. Another shipment handled by the airline involved 101 tons on two charter cargo flights organised by the Government of El Salvador.
The relief effort has centred on using Avianca’s network and freighter capacity to speed supplies into Colombia as emergency response needs developed. The airline has positioned the operation as a mix of humanitarian transport and broader connectivity support, with cargo and passenger services both used to strengthen the recovery response.
