Embraer is evaluating additional final-assembly capacity in the United States and India, with any US line linked to demand for the KC-390 Millennium military transport. The Brazilian manufacturer already has an assembly base in Melbourne, Florida, for executive jets, but any new facility would be aimed at supporting future orders rather than an immediate commercial-aircraft expansion.
The prospect of a US line remains conditional on the size of a potential order, and no site, customer, aircraft count or timetable has been disclosed. Embraer’s existing US operations are focused on its Phenom and Praetor business jets in Melbourne, while its commercial-aircraft production and core engineering activities remain concentrated in Brazil.
The possible expansion fits Embraer’s broader effort to localise production where campaigns justify it, particularly for the KC-390 programme. The company is also looking at India as part of the same industrial review, indicating that additional assembly capacity could be split across more than one market if large orders materialise.
