Himalaya Airlines is set to begin scheduled flights between Kathmandu and Hangzhou on 9 September, opening a new mainland China destination for the Nepali carrier. The twice-weekly service will use Airbus A320 aircraft, with flight numbers H9225 and H9226 linking Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu with Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport.
The new route expands the airline’s China network and gives Nepal’s capital another direct connection to a major Chinese city. Published schedules show departures from Kathmandu at 17:15 and from Hangzhou at 02:05, indicating an overnight eastbound rotation. The service also fits into broader route rebuilding across South Asia-China markets, where demand for passenger travel and cargo links remains a key commercial driver.
The itinerary currently listed is a planned schedule rather than a separate standalone charter, and operational details can still change before launch. Even so, the addition gives Himalaya Airlines a further gateway in mainland China as it builds out its international network.
