Starlux Airlines has launched its first European route, beginning three-times-weekly passenger flights between Taipei Taoyuan and Prague Václav Havel on 1 August. The new service marks the Taiwanese carrier’s entry into Europe and is operated initially with the Airbus A350-900, with a one-off A350-1000 rotation planned for 11 August and a full-time upgauge from 1 September.
The route gives Prague a new long-haul Asian operator and adds another nonstop link between Taiwan and Europe. Starlux plans to increase the service to four weekly frequencies from October, extending the carrier’s long-haul network growth after a rapid international expansion from its Taipei base.
Prague is Starlux’s first European destination, and the launch adds to the city’s long-haul portfolio at a time when Asian leisure and premium traffic remain a key target for European airports. The airline’s move also strengthens Taipei’s role as a long-haul gateway, offering additional capacity on a market that has limited nonstop European competition.
