Cathay Pacific launched the 2026 edition of its I Can Fly Youth Academy, uniting 80 students—40 from Hong Kong and 40 from mainland China—for a two-week aviation program across Chengdu, Hong Kong, and Adelaide. The cohort size directly mirrors the airline’s 80th anniversary, marking the 10th iteration of the flagship initiative since its 2003 inception. Operating with the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, the program delivers immersive aviation exposure through facility visits, mentorship from industry professionals, and integrated social service components. Outstanding participants advance to the Adelaide experiential trip, engaging with BAE Systems Flight Training School where Cathay cadets undergo training. Over 4,400 alumni have graduated, with many securing aviation careers, validating the academy’s role in pipeline development for the sector’s regional recovery.
