MTU Maintenance officially opened its new Fort Worth LEAP MRO Hub on 8 July 2026, inducting its first engine—a GOL Linhas Aéreas LEAP-1B mounted on a fixed overhaul system for incoming inspection. The $120 million refurbishment of the 462,000 sq ft facility in AllianceTexas expands U.S. domestic capacity for LEAP-1B overhauls, strengthening MTU’s collaboration with CFM International. The hub targets full LEAP-1A and -1B service capability from mid-2026, with plans to add GE GEnx widebody engine maintenance later in the decade. This opening advances MTU’s global LEAP footprint, projecting more than 1,000 jobs as operators gain faster access to Boeing 737 MAX engine support near Perot Field Fort Worth Alliance Airport.
