Air Europa confirms first Airbus A350-900 delivery in 2028

Air Europa will receive its first Airbus A350-900 in 2028, initiating a strategic shift from its all-Boeing long-haul fleet to a mixed widebody operation. The carrier secured 20 firm orders with options for 20 additional units, targeting up to 40 aircraft by 2035 under the +Air 28 plan. Initial deliveries include three units in 2028 and two in 2029, followed by a pause until 2032. The A350-900 replaces Boeing 787s, delivering 15% higher capacity and 25% lower fuel burn per seat. This marks Air Europa’s first Airbus widebody commitment, aligning its fleet with European peers modernizing for intercontinental efficiency while supporting the new Air Europa Technics maintenance brand.
