ERC System will move serial production of its Victor heavy-lift drone to 2028, three years earlier than planned, after cutting development cost and shortening the path to market. The Munich-area company is presenting the hybrid-electric platform at the Berlin air show, with first flight of the prototype still targeted for this year.
Victor is built as a dual-use transport aircraft for military and civilian missions. ERC System says the drone carries 250 kg over 300 km on diesel-electric propulsion, positioning it for offshore logistics, firefighting and other heavy-cargo tasks. The programme also has backing from IAGB, while Northern Helicopter, a wholly owned DRF Luftrettung subsidiary, is listed as a partner.
The earlier EIS gives ERC System a cleaner runway into a market where payload, endurance and operating cost matter more than novelty. Execution now decides the programme.
