AutoFlight plans European headquarters at Mönchengladbach Airport

AutoFlight Europe GmbH plans to establish its European headquarters at Mönchengladbach Airport in Germany, bringing together eVTOL assembly, research and development, maintenance, training and distribution at the site. The company and Flughafen Mönchengladbach GmbH have signed a letter of intent to develop the proposal. No facilities have been built and no operations have started; the parties have yet to settle plans, approvals and contractual details.

The proposed site would include final assembly of eVTOL aircraft, maintenance and repair, simulator and flight training, and a European distribution centre. Mönchengladbach Airport intends to make suitable space available, but the parties have not disclosed the facility’s size, investment, expected employment, production volumes or aircraft types.

The letter of intent provides a basis for further cooperation, rather than a commitment to a defined construction or operating schedule. Building plans and the approval process remain to be developed, and no timetable has been given. The airport aims to expand its role in electrically powered aviation systems.
