Air Europa has extended its exclusive Boeing 787 nacelle maintenance agreement with Collins Aerospace through 2037. The deal covers nacelle and thrust-reverser services, with the Spanish airline planning to stage nacelles at its main base and use a forward-exchange arrangement to improve parts availability and maintenance planning. The revised support structure is intended to help manage maintenance, transport and leasing costs as the 787 fleet matures.
Under the arrangement, replacement nacelles can be made available through forward exchange, while units requiring work are routed for maintenance. The model is designed to provide faster support during aircraft-on-ground events and make shop visits more predictable, reducing the risk of unscheduled downtime. The announcement did not identify the main base or provide an implementation timetable.
The extension retains Collins Aerospace, an RTX business, as Air Europa’s exclusive nacelle maintenance provider for the programme. It gives the airline a long-term service framework for its 787 fleet, but no contract value or number of aircraft or nacelles covered was disclosed.
