Jeppesen ends international chart-printing service

Jeppesen ended its international chart-printing service on 31 October, ending supply of its printed aeronautical charts while retaining digital access for customers. Remaining paper subscriptions were terminated from 1 November. Commercial operators can continue using Jeppesen charts digitally or request files for in-house or third-party printing, while small-volume printing remains available through platforms including Ground Controls, eLink Portal and ForeFlight.

Jeppesen says most airlines have pursued paperless approvals and use digital charts. The company is encouraging operators still using paper to assess the regulatory requirements for moving to digital operations and provides supporting materials for that process.

Customers that still need physical charts can print selected material themselves; Jeppesen also continues to offer its seven-hole-punched paper. The company can provide print files for larger requirements. The end of Jeppesen’s printing service therefore does not remove access to the chart content, but shifts printing to customers or other providers.

Rising paper-production and handling costs, alongside aviation’s adoption of digital charts, were cited in reporting on the decision. Jeppesen’s commercial aviation guidance confirms the service’s termination and the continued digital and print-file options.
