The International Aircraft Dealers Association (IADA) and the American Society of Appraisers (ASA) are joining forces on professional education for aircraft dealers, brokers and appraisers. Under the partnership, IADA’s quarterly market reports will be incorporated into ASA’s Aviation-Specific Machinery & Equipment Valuation Methodology course, with IADA Board Chairs presenting the material virtually. The organisations are also developing an online course for brokers; no launch date has been set.
The ASA course is intended for candidates pursuing the Accredited Senior Appraiser designation. Incorporating IADA market data will give candidates access to information drawn from the association’s dealer, broker and parts-and-services network.
The planned broker course will cover aircraft appraisal methodology, professional standards and documentation, as well as ASA’s credentialing process. It is intended to explain how appraisals are produced and what information appraisers need to support credible valuations. The course remains under development, and the organisations have not provided a schedule or further implementation details.
IADA represents aircraft resale professionals, while ASA is a multidisciplinary appraisal organisation. The partnership links aircraft-market information with appraisal training across general aviation.
