Fly Erbil received an Air Operator Certificate from the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority (ICAA) on 20 October, allowing the Erbil-based company to organise flights under its own operating approval. The certification establishes it as an independently certified Iraqi air carrier, ending its reliance on other airlines’ certificates for services it marketed or chartered. No new routes or operating dates have yet been confirmed.
Before receiving the AOC, Fly Erbil used certificates held by other operators, including UR Airlines. The approval shifts the company from that virtual-carrier model to independently certified operations, although it does not by itself confirm when services under its own certificate will begin.
Fly Erbil plans to expand to other Iraqi cities and regional and international destinations. It has not published specific routes, launch dates or schedules for those services. The company has one Airbus A320-200 and a second A320-200 in storage awaiting delivery.
