Icelease has agreed to convert one Boeing 767-300 into a Boeing Converted Freighter, with options for two additional aircraft. The first conversion is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2027, with delivery expected in the second quarter. Boeing will carry out the work at ST Engineering’s airframe maintenance facilities in Singapore. The freighter is intended for the managed cargo fleet of Icelease sister company IAT Leasing.
The agreement does not commit Icelease to the two optional conversions. Boeing has not identified the aircraft to be converted, a customer for the freighter or the financial terms.
IAT Leasing, based in Dublin, already has seven Boeing 737-800BCFs and other freighters leased to customers. Adding the 767-300BCF would extend its portfolio to a larger freighter type. Boeing gives the converted aircraft a payload capacity of 57 tonnes and a range of 3,300 nautical miles.
Icelease and Boeing signed the agreement at the Cargo Facts Symposium on 22 October. Boeing made the deal public on 2 November.
