LOT Polish Airlines has retired its final Embraer E170, ending more than 22 years of operations with the type. The aircraft, registered SP-LDH, reportedly completed its last scheduled passenger rotation between Warsaw and Vienna on 30 October. LOT began commercial E170 service on the same route on 17 March 2004, becoming the first airline to operate the aircraft in commercial service.
LOT operated 10 E170s, which the retirement report credits with carrying about 13.8 million passengers on nearly 300,000 flights. The fleet accumulated more than 455,000 flight hours and covered 230 million kilometres. Configured for 70 to 76 passengers, the aircraft served domestic and European routes including Prague, Copenhagen and Budapest.
The withdrawal applies only to the E170: LOT continues to operate the E175, E190, E195 and E195-E2. The airline is also preparing to introduce Airbus A220s from 2027, under an order for 40 aircraft. Separately, LOT has begun withdrawing E175s ahead of the A220 deliveries; those retirements are distinct from the E170’s reported final flight.
