LATAM Brasil begins E195-E2 deliveries ahead of November entry into service

LATAM Airlines Brasil has taken delivery of its first Embraer E195-E2, beginning the introduction of the type into its fleet as the airline expands service on thinner domestic markets. Handed over by Embraer in early October, the aircraft reached LATAM’s maintenance centre in Guarulhos, São Paulo, on 20 October for final preparation ahead of commercial operations scheduled to start on 30 November.

LATAM’s agreement with Embraer covers 24 firm E195-E2s and 50 purchase options. The airline expects up to 12 aircraft to be delivered by the end of 2026, with as many as 14 in service by March 2027. The initial operating phase is planned to cover 42 domestic routes, including new connections, and support service to more than 70 Brazilian airports by 2027, compared with about 63 currently.

The E195-E2 will complement LATAM’s Airbus A320-family fleet rather than immediately replace it. On the São Paulo/Guarulhos–Vitória route, for example, the type is expected to operate daily alongside Airbus aircraft. The first aircraft is undergoing receiving inspections, LATAM standardisation work and regulatory preparations before entering service.

Embraer has separately reported strong third-quarter demand for the E2 family, including firm orders and options from Abra Group, Binter, Luxair and ANA Holdings. Those transactions are separate from LATAM’s existing agreement and do not represent a new order by the Brazilian carrier.
