Air Astana to launch new routes to Tokyo and Bangkok

Air Astana will expand its winter 2026/27 international network with new services from Almaty to Tokyo Narita and from Astana to Bangkok. The Tokyo route will begin on 30 November with two weekly flights operated by Airbus A321LR aircraft, while the Bangkok service will start on 11 December with two weekly flights, strengthening links between Kazakhstan and key Asian business and leisure markets.

The Almaty–Tokyo service will operate on Mondays and Thursdays, with return flights from Tokyo on Tuesdays and Fridays. The route will provide Air Astana’s first direct connection between Kazakhstan and Japan and will operate under a codeshare arrangement with Japan Airlines, subject to the required approvals.

The Astana–Bangkok flights will operate on Tuesdays and Fridays, supplementing the airline’s existing daily service from Almaty. The route will use Airbus A321LR aircraft and broaden Astana’s role as an international connecting hub.

Air Astana’s winter schedule runs from 25 October 2026 to 27 March 2027. The carrier also began services from Almaty and Astana to Salalah in Oman on 23 October. Eight scheduled or charter destinations were launched from Astana during 2026, taking the hub’s international network to 32 destinations and increasing weekly international departures from 99 to 116. Flight schedules remain subject to change.
