Skyband Systems is integrating Iridium’s PNT application-specific integrated circuit into its M100 line-replaceable unit for business and commercial aviation. The unit combines independent positioning and timing signals from Iridium’s low-Earth-orbit constellation with inertial sensing to detect GNSS jamming or spoofing, alert flight crews and provide an aircraft-location reference when conventional satellite-navigation data is compromised.
Iridium PNT is designed to provide an independent navigation and timing source rather than another GNSS signal. Its signals are delivered through one-way bursts from the Iridium constellation and are substantially stronger than traditional GNSS signals, allowing them to remain usable in environments where satellite-navigation signals are disrupted.
The M100 is intended to cross-check GNSS-derived information and improve crew awareness during interference events. That capability responds to growing reliance on satellite navigation across aviation and the increasing use of jamming to block signals or spoofing to transmit false position and timing data.
Iridium’s PNT ASIC attracted interest from more than 150 organisations across aviation, maritime, unmanned systems, telecommunications and critical infrastructure after its unveiling in October 2025. The companies have not disclosed aircraft customers, planned unit numbers, pricing or delivery dates. Certification details for the M100 were also not provided.
