Sky Alps Europe takes delivery of first Dash 8-400

Sky Alps Europe, the Slovakian subsidiary of South Tyrolean regional airline Sky Alps, has taken over its first aircraft: a De Havilland Canada Dash 8-400 registered OM-TOM. The 76-seat turboprop is being transferred from Sky Alps’ existing fleet as the Bratislava-based company prepares to establish a separate operation initially planned around two aircraft.

The aircraft previously carried the registration OE-IMQ and joined Sky Alps’ fleet in August 2023. Delivered in 2009, it originally operated as D-ABQE for LGW Luftfahrtgesellschaft Walter, including flights for Air Berlin and Eurowings.

After an extended period on the ground at Cuneo in Italy, the aircraft was flown to Bolzano on 6 October 2026. It had been registered to Sky Alps Europe in September ahead of the transfer.

Sky Alps Europe was originally expected to secure its air operator certificate and operating licence in September, although confirmation of both approvals was not available. The transfer is an internal fleet reallocation rather than the acquisition of a new aircraft. No routes, commercial launch date or entry into service for OM-TOM have been disclosed.
