PrivatPort to Open FBOs at Cancún and Tulum

PrivatPort is expanding its business-aviation FBO network into Mexico with new facilities at Cancún International Airport and Felipe Carrillo Puerto International Airport serving Tulum. The Swissport subsidiary plans to officially open both sites next week, extending ground-handling and FBO support to two major Riviera Maya destinations and adding Mexico to a network covering 84 other airports worldwide.

The airports serve the resort markets around Cancún and Tulum, providing access for private-aviation operators serving the region. PrivatPort is positioning the expansion around a focused business-aviation service model intended to encourage operators to use the group at multiple locations.

A 24/7 flight operations control centre in Dubai will act as the network’s central contact point for arranging services across the airports. Local handling teams provide airport-specific operational information to support those arrangements.

Desigen Vythilingum, PrivatPort’s newly appointed chief commercial officer, is leading the commercial effort to attract operators to the network. No investment figures, facility sizes, staffing levels or detailed service and amenity information have been disclosed for the Mexican FBOs.
