Iberojet to phase out A350s and standardise fleet on Airbus A330s

Iberojet plans to phase out its two Airbus A350s and sole A320 over the next one to five years as the Spanish airline moves towards an all-A330 fleet. The Ávoris-owned carrier currently operates four A330s, two A350s and one A320, with the future fleet expected to comprise at least eight aircraft using standardised engines and cabin configurations.

Iberojet is negotiating for two additional A330ceo aircraft powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 700 engines. Their planned arrival in summer 2027 has been postponed amid higher fuel costs. The airline intends to replace its non-A330 aircraft progressively as leasing commitments expire, rather than withdraw them immediately.

The fleet plan is designed to reduce complexity in maintenance, crew training, cabin management and spare-parts procurement. It also coincides with Ávoris’s preliminary interest in acquiring control of Spanish long-haul carrier Plus Ultra, whose seven-aircraft fleet consists of A330s. Discussions remain at an early stage, with no agreement reached, and any integration would be subject to further negotiations. No official confirmation of the fleet plan from Ávoris or Iberojet has been identified.
