Desert Jet Begins Major Expansion at California FBO and MRO

Desert Jet has begun a $24 million expansion of its Desert Jet Center FBO and Part 145 maintenance facility at Jacqueline Cochran Regional Airport near Palm Springs, California. The first phase adds 3.5 acres of ramp space, more than doubling apron capacity and supporting the company’s growing business aviation and maintenance operations. Completion of the ramp work is expected by the end of 2026.

The expanded ramp will enable construction of two new 28,000-square-foot climate-controlled hangars, planned for 2027. Once the development is complete, Desert Jet’s aircraft shelter and maintenance footprint at KTRM will total nearly 80,000 square feet.

The project is being led by Desert Jet and chief executive Jared Fox, who described the investment as a reflection of confidence in the airport’s future and its increasing role in Coachella Valley business aviation. The additional ramp, hangar and maintenance capacity is intended to accommodate existing customers, attract further business and support regional economic activity.

Desert Jet planned to brief attendees on the project during NBAA-BACE in Las Vegas. The current construction phase is limited to the ramp extension; the two hangars have not yet been completed, and no schedule beyond planned construction in 2027 has been disclosed.
