Avolon orders 250 Airbus and Boeing aircraft, lifting commitments to 749

Avolon has placed firm orders for 250 new-technology aircraft with Airbus and Boeing, adding 140 Boeing 737 MAX jets and 110 Airbus aircraft to its backlog. The deal lifts the lessor’s total firm aircraft commitments to 749 units and includes options for 100 additional Airbus aircraft, pending shareholder approval from Bohai Leasing.

The Airbus package covers 75 A320neo-family aircraft and 35 A330neo widebodies, extending Avolon’s access to both narrowbody and long-haul capacity. The company is using the order to secure delivery positions for airline customers as demand remains strong for fleet renewal and growth.

Avolon’s owned, managed and committed fleet stands at 1,092 aircraft, or 1,342 aircraft on a pro forma basis after the new orders. Bohai Leasing, which owns 70% of Avolon, is expected to approve the transaction before the end of October 2026.
