Ryanair answers passenger’s windowless-seat complaint: ‘Take a nap’

Ryanair has responded to a passenger who complained about being assigned seat 11A without a window, telling him to “Take a nap.” The traveller said in a TikTok video that the airline should have warned him that the seat faced a cabin wall, while Ryanair maintained that its booking process had disclosed the limitation.

The airline replied “We did” and posted an image of a booking notification stating: “This seat has no window.” The exchange, reportedly covered by the Liverpool Echo in June, reflects Ryanair’s familiar use of humorous and dismissive social-media responses to customer complaints.

Seat 11A is positioned beside the fuselage but is not aligned with a window on some Ryanair aircraft configurations. The available material does not establish the aircraft type, route, travel date or the passenger’s identity, and there is no information on whether Ryanair offered a refund or other compensation.

The incident highlights the distinction between a seat classified as a window seat and one that provides an actual view. Passengers selecting seats for the view should check the airline’s warnings and the aircraft-specific seat map before completing payment.
