Avolon orders 110 Airbus aircraft

Irish lessor Avolon has placed a firm order for 110 Airbus aircraft, comprising 35 A330-900s and 75 jets from the A320neo family. The deal supports the long-term fleet requirements of its airline customers and extends the company’s delivery pipeline into the next decade. It forms part of a wider 250-aircraft commitment covering both Airbus and Boeing.

The Airbus order increases Avolon’s accumulated commitments to approximately 114 A330-900s and 650 aircraft from the A320 family. Airbus now identifies Avolon as the largest lessor customer for the A330-900 programme.

The broader transaction includes 140 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft and options for 100 additional Airbus jets. If approved, the commitments will bring Avolon’s total firm aircraft orders to 749.

Completion remains subject to approval by the shareholders of Bohai Leasing, which owns 70% of Avolon. That approval was expected before the end of October 2026. Avolon did not disclose delivery dates for the 110 Airbus aircraft; before the order, it had approximately 320 Airbus aircraft still awaiting delivery.
