Discover Airlines takes over further Lufthansa routes for winter

Discover Airlines has taken over selected Lufthansa services for the 2026/27 winter schedule, which began on 25 October. The German carrier now operates Frankfurt–Lyon, Frankfurt–Reykjavík Keflavík and Munich–Lyon under its own 4Y flight numbers, with Lufthansa retaining its LH code through codeshares. On Frankfurt–Málaga and Munich–Málaga, Discover has added services while Lufthansa continues to operate flights in parallel.

The changes cover services between Lufthansa Group hubs in Frankfurt and Munich and destinations in France, Iceland and Spain. On the three transferred routes, passengers booking an LH-coded flight may travel on a Discover-operated service. The Málaga routes differ: they are not fully transferred, and both airlines continue to operate them.

Earlier aviation reporting described the winter transfers as temporary and linked them to additional cockpit crew training opportunities, with the routes expected to return to Lufthansa in the summer 2027 schedule. The latest route update does not specify frequencies or confirm that rationale or planned end date.
