Austrian Airlines plans to end its Vienna–Zagreb service on 10 January 2027, removing the carrier from the route but not ending the direct link between the two capitals. Current schedules show the airline operating the route daily with Embraer E195 aircraft, with some flights provided by Air Dolomiti. Croatia Airlines is scheduled to continue serving the connection; Austrian has no service planned for the summer 2027 timetable.
Austrian’s service between Vienna and Zagreb began in 1986. The route has since been reduced from a peak of as many as 12 weekly flights to one daily frequency in summer 2026. The planned withdrawal therefore leaves Croatia Airlines as the scheduled operator of the direct connection, based on current published schedules.
The January end date comes from schedule data, while Austrian has confirmed in earlier reporting that it will not continue the route in summer 2027. No reason for the withdrawal has been established.
