Lufthansa Technik increased revenue by 14% year on year to €6.8 billion in the first nine months of 2026, while adjusted EBIT rose 17% to €515 million. The Hamburg-based MRO provider’s adjusted EBIT margin reached 7.6%, up from 7.4%. Growth came mainly from engine maintenance and component services, and external customers accounted for 79% of revenue, compared with 74% a year earlier.
Activity recovered partly after flight hours fell in the second quarter amid the Middle East crisis, but third-quarter flight hours remained slightly below the prior-year level. Material shortages, supply-chain delays and geopolitical uncertainty continued to weigh on operations. Investment increased 15% to €167 million as Lufthansa Technik pursued its Ambition 2030 strategy.
The company signed a 15-year exclusive engine and digital-services agreement with Flair Airlines for the Canadian carrier’s LEAP-1B-powered Boeing 737 MAX 8 fleet. In the Philippines, construction began in August on a second aircraft-overhaul facility at Clark International Airport. The site is scheduled to open in 2028, with Emirates expected to be its first customer. Lufthansa Technik also extended component support for Japan Airlines’ Boeing 787 fleet and agreed a long-term component-services contract with Uzbekistan Airways.
Lufthansa Technik expects full-year earnings to be significantly above the 2025 result. The outlook remains subject to geopolitical uncertainty and subdued expectations among airline customers.
