FL Technics has secured JetBlue as the launch customer for its new maintenance, repair and overhaul facility at Punta Cana International Airport in the Dominican Republic. The base maintenance agreement provides an initial commercial anchor for the site, which is nearing completion.
The $70 million MRO hub results from a joint investment with Grupo Puntacana, a key player in tourism and development. The project will roll out in phases, starting with about 300 skilled technical and support jobs and eventually scaling to 2,000 positions. Positioned near one of the Caribbean’s busiest airports, the center targets airlines and aircraft lessors, enabling heavy maintenance locally to cut downtime, reduce shipping costs and boost fleet reliability.
This development positions Punta Cana as a growing hub in regional aviation maintenance networks, fostering self-sufficiency in the Caribbean and deeper ties to global aerospace services.
