ACIA Aero Leasing has finalized a sale-and-leaseback transaction for two ATR 72-600 passenger aircraft now operating with EWA Air, strengthening the Irish lessor’s presence among regional turboprop operators.
The Dublin-based company, a key player in regional aircraft leasing and management, selected EWA Air and its majority owner Air Austral for this deal. The aircraft, configured for up to 70 passengers, support EWA Air’s vital regional connectivity missions.
ACIA manages a diverse portfolio focused on ATR and Embraer platforms, including passenger and freighter variants. This transaction adds EWA Air to its expanding roster of ATR customers, highlighting the type’s efficiency for short-field operations.
The ATR 72-600 features Pratt & Whitney Canada PW127 engines delivering up to 2,750 SHP each, with a maximum take-off weight of 23,000 kg and a range of approximately 1,370 km with full payload. Its short take-off distance of 1,315 m at sea level enables service to remote airstrips.
This move aligns with growing demand for fuel-efficient turboprops in island and regional networks. ACIA’s recent deliveries to operators like PNG Air underscore its strategy to bolster fleet modernization in challenging environments.
The deal reinforces ACIA’s commitment to flexible leasing solutions for operators prioritizing operational reliability and cost-effectiveness in regional markets.
