Swissport returns to French market with EuroAirport cargo operation

Swissport has launched a new cargo-handling operation in the French sector of EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse, returning to the French market. Operating as Swissport Cargo Services France, the facility provides 3,000 sq m of warehouse space for airline cargo handling, including French customs processing and international pallet build-up and breakdown. The operation serves the cross-border Basel–Mulhouse–Freiburg region.

The warehouse comprises a 1,000 sq m French customs zone and 2,000 sq m of international handling space. Swissport’s French entity will initially focus on airline cargo-handling activities and operate independently from a legal and operational perspective.

The new operation will work closely with Swissport’s established cargo operation in Basel, drawing on the existing team’s expertise and processes. Swissport’s Basel facility has previously been treated as a Swiss operation; the new entity establishes a dedicated French presence at the airport.

The launch expands Swissport’s European cargo-handling network while creating a platform for further activity in France. No airline customer, investment value, staffing level or throughput target has been disclosed.
