TEDAE reaches 150 members as Spanish aerospace and defence industry expands

TEDAE, the Spanish association representing defence, security, aerospace and space technology companies, has reached 150 members, expanding its membership by 50% in two years. The milestone broadens the organisation’s representation of Spain’s industrial base and its role in sector dialogue across the country’s defence and aerospace markets.

TEDAE president Alberto Gutiérrez described the increase as a sign of confidence in the association and the role it plays in representing industry, promoting innovation and competitiveness, and supporting Spain’s strategic autonomy. The association has members across Spain, including established industrial centres, although details of the latest additions and their distribution by sector were not disclosed.

The membership growth comes as the industries represented by TEDAE increase their economic contribution. In 2025, the combined defence, security, aerospace and space sectors generated an estimated €24.425 billion for Spain’s gross domestic product, equivalent to 1.45% of national GDP and 13.7% of industrial GDP. Their consolidated turnover reached €18.034 billion, while activity across the sectors supported nearly 290,000 jobs and generated €10.821 billion in exports.

Aerospace was the largest contributor, accounting for €16.325 billion of the overall GDP impact, according to the latest industry assessment prepared for TEDAE. The figures provide the economic backdrop to the association’s expanding membership and wider representation of companies involved in Spain’s defence and aerospace supply chains.
