Safran joins Seattle forum on aerospace production challenges

Safran participated in the Seattle European-American Air Forum in Seattle, Washington, where industry executives discussed the supply-chain constraints accompanying higher aircraft production rates. Mark Borus, chief executive of IDD Aerospace, a Safran Electronics & Defense company, represented the group on a panel examining how aerospace manufacturers and suppliers can expand capacity while maintaining quality and efficiency.

Held during Seattle Space Week, the forum was organised by the French-American Chamber of Commerce’s Seattle-Pacific Northwest chapter. It brought together aerospace and space-industry executives, startups, suppliers, investors and policymakers from Europe and North America.

The panel focused on production ramp-up pressures across the aerospace supply chain, including constraints in manufacturing capacity, quality performance and operational efficiency. The discussion addressed the requirements facing suppliers as aircraft manufacturers increase output, without identifying a new investment, customer agreement, facility expansion or binding production target.

Safran also highlighted its presence in Washington State’s aerospace ecosystem. Its activities in the region include engineering, cabin interiors, cockpit control and indication systems, and ventilation systems. The company’s participation centred on industry capability and supply-chain readiness rather than a new aircraft programme, order or technology announcement.
